Gas fireplace shuts off and pilot goes out. After it goes out and i attempt to relight it the burners will only stay lit for about 5 mins. That was a month ago. We have a gas fireplace in our living room.

The pilot gets great contact with the thermocouple when the fireplace is off and its just the pilot lit but when i turn on the fireplace the pilot light gets a little smaller still a strong blue and does. It should say on until i manually turn it off i found that when i first light it the burners stay lit for maybe 15 20 mins. Though i don t worry too much about carbon monoxide poisoning i figured there must be some safety device to shut off the gas valve. To make sure the key is in the right position you can jingle it a little until the lock slid into its place in the keyhole.

The fireplace does not have an automatic tempature shut off. The latter kept going out after about half an hour even when the dial showed it as on. Often it s not even fully warmed up eg. So guessing it s not a heat sensor.

It shuts down after 20 30 minutes of operation pilot goes off we moved into a new place and we started the fireplace today.
